Video from Lakeland, FL #50501 protest

On the 4th of March, protesters in Lakeland lined both sides of S Florida Ave in front of the office of Congressman Rep Scott Franklin (R-FL).

Only one car with an obvious MAGA flag was spotted counterprotesting, plus a couple other possibles. Meanwhile a steady stream of motorists honked in support.

These smaller Southern cities and towns are supposed to be Trump stronghold, but that’s not what we saw from passing traffic! After all, nobody anywhere voted for Elon Musk.

DC Area Tesla Protests Grow, Tap Rage Towards Elon Musk

Washington DC—Saturday marked the third week of Tesla protests in the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DC-MD-VA) area as the protests outside Tesla dealerships continued growing and spreading across the country. The protests reflect the extent of the rage many feel towards mega-billionaire Elon Musk for his role in the takeover and takedown of vital Federal agencies and functions. Protesters are urging car owners to sell their Teslas or boycott the electric car company altogether. They are calling their actions Tesla Takedown in response to Musk’s Federal Government takedown.

The fact that there are so many drivers honking their horns in support of the protesters shows that many who are not themselves directly involved in the protests support the cvil actions because they feel the same way as those on the sidewalks holding signs and banners, and chanting from bullhorns.

Solidarity protest for migrants held at Plant City, FL strawberry festival

There was no sign of ICE. An attack on this event would have been incredibly bad press. Plant City is a global capital of winter strawberry production, producing nearly all of the US winter strawberry crop. These strawberries are still harvested the old way, by hand.

Migrant farmworkers do nearly all the work of actually producing the strawberries. Now they are under serious threat from ICE, as sheriffs of nearby counties whine and moan to ICE about the presence of nonwhite migrants in their counties. The Lake County sheriff has been especially noisy about this, and ALL of the FL sheriff’s departments participate in ICE’s notorious 287(g) program (POGROM maybe?)

Trump golf course in DC area renamed “Golf of Mexico” by protesters.

On March 1, the DC (actually Northern Virginia) Trump golf course was temporarily rebranded “Golf of Mexico” by protesters. This is in reference to the imperialistic attempts by Trump to force mapmakers to rename the Gulf of Mexico.

Note that most US media outlets have complied with Trump about the Gulf, and the AP has been banned from Air Force One and the West Wing for using the name “Gulf of Mexico.”

Protesters in DC cheer for USAID workers after they get 15 minutes only to clean out their desks.

On Feb 28, USAID workers were given just 15 minutes to clear out their desks and leave. As they left the building, protesters “clapped them out” cheering for them like civil disobedience protesters ejected from a targetted building.

This 15 minute limit creates close to an emergency departure routine, save that for Nazi tanks at the loading dock one would probably abandon all desk contents and beat it down the fire stairs.

Uhuru Party holds vigil in St Pete FL on anniversary of Aaron Bushnell’s sacrifice at the Israeli Embassy.

On the 25th of Feb 2025, vigils were held in many places for Aaron Bushnell. One of these was in front of City Hall in St Petersburg FL, hosted by the Uhuru Party which calls St Pete one of their two home bases. Activists from many groups showed up from as far away as Ocala.

A representative of the American Indian Movement (AIM) spoke as well, emphasizing that the US occupation of Turtle Island and the US-funded Israeli occupation of Palestine are basically the same thing. The term “Manifest Destiny” is just as valid describing Netanyahu’s brutal ambitions as it was for describing Andrew Jackson’s murderous anti-Indigenous ways.

One year ago on Feb 25, active duty US Airman Aaron Bushnell showed up at the Israeli Embassy and set himself on fire, yelling “Free Palestine!” Before doing so, he said the “extreme act of protest” he was about to carry out was not extreme at all compared to the suffering imposed on Palestinians by Israel.

Now, with so many Palestinians coming home from Israeli dungeons in the Flood of the Free bearing marks of extreme torture, we see this is clearly the case. There are also the thousands of Palestinians burned alive by Israel’s white phosphorus and similar bombs. High explosive bombs usually kill by blast, fragmentation, and by collapsing buildings onto their occupants but can also start deadly fires as well.

Compared to this, Aaron is right: there is nothing extreme about his martyrdom, recognized as such by multiple fighting resistance groups in Occupied Palestine.

Locals Hit Elon Musk Tesla Car Dealers Again As DOGE Axes More Fed Jobs

From dcmediagroup.us

Arlington VA—Local grassroots organizers stepped up actions on Saturday for the second weekend outside Elon Musk’s Tesla electric vehicle dealerships in hopes of spurring a boycott against the company. At least four dealerships were targeted in the region as fury rose against the mega-billionaire and world’s richest man. The protests were part of a national effort by many grassroots groups.

Local dealerships of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DC-MD-VA) at Georgetown, Washington DC; Rockville, Maryland; Tysons Corner and Arlington, Virginia were among those sites of the weekend protests. The protesters stood on sidewalks outside the dealerships holding signs and encouraging passing motorists to boycott the electric vehicle car company. Many motorists passed blowing their horns in support of the protesters.

Hundreds protest Trump and Musk in Tampa’s 50501 event

On the 17th of February, the “50501” protests rocked the US from coast to coast. Up to 5,000 may have participated in DC, maybe 1,000 in Tampa, and hundreds more in a boisterous protest on Kenndedy Street in front of Tampa City Hall.

Tampa protesters adopted a new tactic: closing up and holding the banner across the street when traffic was stopped for a red light, then using the walk sign countdown to clear the street before the light turned green. This allowed the entire flow of afternoon rush hour traffic to see the protest instead of just the same dozen or so. A great many drivers cheered and honked in solidarity, even here in Florida.

A few stray Trumpers were chased away, the later ones warned “Nazis aren’t safe here!” Throughout the protest, Trump and Elon Musk were explicitly called not just Fascists but Nazis. This is what they are and Naziism must be stopped NOW.

Reportback from DC and Arlington TeslaTakedown protests

The 15th of February was a national day of protests against Elon Musk and DOGE at Tesla showrooms. Two of these protests were in the DC area: one in Arlington, VA and one in DC’s Georgetown.

Someone had a “Boycott Tesla” sign. On the Geortetown sidewalks someone chalked “Fascist in the mirror are closer than they appear, and someone chalked up “You want a Swasticar?”

What Musk needs to be asking is “you want fries with that?”
