Washington DC—On Saturday afternoon (Aug 15), DC residents rallied in opposition to street patrols of armed National Guard Soldiers. Organized by the Party of Socialism and Liberation, multiple speakers told of the negative effects from the deployment of thousands of armed troops throughout the city. They also called on residents to increase pressure on city leadership to end the armed patrols and request National Guard be returned to their States. They also demanded DC be given Statehood.
Washington DC—They rode up late at night along the silent driveway to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Stopping just long enough to attach a few cables and turn on their projector, they beamed a light show from a car window. Security was caught totally flat-footed. The light show parodied Trump’s vanity project for shuttering the venerable monument and cloaking its name.

A note on the police harassment shown at the end of the video: In this incident the projectionists were again harassed by police, but since the cops were late to get there the projection team was already “mission accomplished” and was able to safely withdraw without losing the mission.

This was yet another incident the SAME DAY involving ICE. I wonder if they were “celebrating” the anniversary of Charlottesville with their brutal violence?
Cville was brutally expensive, but since the Nazis were defeated in their attempt to hold a racist rally with speakers our forces won by definition as the defenders. The effect of this victory however expensive was profound. Up until that time Richard Spencer’s suit and tie Nazi alt-right faction seemed to be growing stronger by the week. After that terrifying torch march, the brutal battle, and that DAESH/ISIS style terrorist attack they were forced to retreat in disarray. Spencer’s own involvement in public Nazi politics was finished off for good the following spring, when his failed university speaking tour came to a humiliating end in another battle at the University of Michigan.
After Cville, the remnants of American Vanguard (which had included Heather Heyer’s murderer James Fields) reorganized into Patriot Front. The collapse of Spencer’s hard alt-right opened a vacuum into which the Proud Boys grew into another new and dangerous force. Many former Proud Boys are now ICE agents.
Now for my own experience: I had planned to deploy to Charlottesville but was strongly urged not to go because I was still way too hot from the Deploraball/stink “bomb” fracas of Jan 19 2017. A good friend who was already going shot video in my place and got footage I would not have been able to get as I would not have been able to get that close and still be able to spare one hand from fighting for the camera. About 80% of the video below is that footage.
The following day, still waiting for my friends to return, I was in the DC emergency march from the WWII Memorial to the Albert Pike statue. This foreshadowed the events of three years later when protesters tore it down on Juneteenth 2020.
The video below from Cville was delayed until Aug 14th because my cameraman was not back until the evening of the 13th because of the terrorist attack. I got the footage (about 80% of this finished edit) after the march from the WWII Memorial to the Pike Statue. While the footage was copying to my laptop, a drunk driver DROVE ONTO THE SIDEWALK right at us! I yelled “heads up!” but was sitting on my feet and could not move fast. I thought I was toast. The drunk driver went around us and lurched back into the street. That’s when I realized he was only a drunk driver.

This is from a longer video, starts with us marching past what was then Trump Hotel, descending on the Albert Pike statue and chanting “tear it down!” This was three years before protesters did exactly that on Juneteenth 2020.
The march originated at the WWII Memorial but grew as it passed through the streets, especially during an intermediate rally at the White House.

This is at least the 3ed incident of the day involving ICE it seems. First Broward County where someone’s leg was run over, then ICE at a polling place in S Fl, and now this in Virginia. This is very fast and dangerous escalation. Now is the time to HOLD THE LINE!
Not sure where exactly this was or if they are still there, but this morning ICE was seen carrying out “enforcement actions” across from a polling place somewhere in South FL. Early voting is now underway in that FL primary.
In other words, we are seeing ICE at polling places early. I thought this would wait until the general election but we just had an incident in the FL primary and during early voting at that.
So it begins-Trump knows his GOP thug buddies cannot win in November, and this is part of his plans to cheat. ICE at polling places will deter Latinx voters and possibly other voters of color and maybe even white Dems from approaching the polling place they are beseiging.
I thus must advise voters to vote early and several days before the end of early voting, so they can with withdraw and try again if they find the area infested with ICE or cops.
This is video from Hallandale, FL in the southern part of Broward County. ICE ran down a person and injured their leg. Then they kidnapped him and loaded him into their SUV anyway. A videographer filmed this from the other side of a fence. To intervene physically would have required being on the other side of the fence and about a dozen people willing to step up.
Every member of ICE is an inhuman monster, same as Hitler’s SS and Gestapo. This is more proof.
On August 9, the Memphis “SAFE” task force, a local police/state/Federal combined unit that basically replaced the Scorpion unit assaulted a nightclub. They blocked all exits and demanded to see ID in order to leave.
This was probably an attempt to round up migrants for ICE and/or to randomly check a crowd for anyone with a warrant. The countermeasure would basically have been to riot and force an exit from the club. Both out the windows and force on force at the door are valid options.
The narrator indicated this “started with ICE.”
The target of the raid was Legends Lounge, supposedly over exceeding fire capacity limits. This however would legally call for cops to evacuate the club, not trap everyone inside demanding they line up single file with fucking ID. Criminal defense attorney Michael R. Working called the police conduct “Blatantly illegal. Blatantly unconstitutional. Total violation of the Fourth Amendment,” after reviewing video of the raid.
Some historical background on such club raids
Remember: this was how Stonewall started when a Gay bar in NYC was treated this way in 1969.
Another example that I can describe from firsthand experience is far more recent. In 1998 in DC, a police raid on nonalcoholic Club Soda targetted an Oct 22 anti police brutality concert. Again the demand was to check IDs, but the crowd refused to comply and instead prepared to fight.
The second in command for the DC cops in 1998 was Terrence Gainer, he was there with his fucking bullhorn trying to get people to submit to ID checks. He was shouted down as the clamor and fury rose. People were able to force an exit en masse, and then gathered on the street, presumably not done fighting. Cops brought up a fire truck, but the Fire Department did not turn the hoses on people. Eventually the confrontation deescalated and fizzled out, with ID’s never getting checked so this was a defeat for the cops.
I did not see any serious attempt by cops to punch or club people into submission that night in 1998. We were indoors and they did not have gas masks, meaning they could not fire mace. My guess is they didn’t want their asses kicked, so they accepted that people were leaving without showing ID. Also remember that no law requires having ID at a club that does not have or want a liquor license.
There were a few arrests, but we won and the cops lost. I was there and remember it well. It did NOT happen again on my watch in DC. Now we see it happening in Memphis, and a year or two ago (I think it was in Seattle) cops even had the nerve to attack a Gay bar. This happened again in Pittsburgh in May 2025 targetting a drag show. Fascist thugs are getting bold, it’s time to remember what Stonewall stands for. ACAB…

Washington DC—What was supposed to be a brief light projection onto a building turned into a lesson in First Amendment rights for DC Police on Wednesday night. While activists projected a series of slides onto the side of John Hopkins University at 5th & Pennsylvania, a security guard from the site approached them requesting they stop the projection. The activists declined the guard’s request, saying it was within their rights to project light from a public space—in this case, from the median of Pennsylvania Avenue.

About an half hour later police officers arrived and asked the activists to end their show. Police cited DC code they claimed the activists were going against. The activists requested to see the code and police shared it with them from their vehicle screen. The DC code details what constitutes “defacement” of a building. It was this law that the police officer was referring to as grounds to stop the projection.
Marcos was the acting police liaison and calmly interacted with the police officer. He read back to him the DC code. He pointed out that nowhere did it mention that light projection from a public space was illegal. The light was not ‘defacing’ the building because it was not damaging the building.
Guessing this video is from last night (Aug 4). ICE’s terrorism is spreading in Florida. Clearwater has faced a full-on pogrom, and ICE showed up in Immokalle. Looks from this video like they didn’t do so well, an ICE agent at a gas station gets driven into their car
