The 20th of January was the 1 year anniversary of Trump’s installation in office. Walkouts and protests from coast to coast greeted this sordid anniversary of hate. One of these protests was in Tampa, FL across from City Hall. This location is highly appropriate as Tampa Mayor Jane Castor signed what must be a “task force model” 287 (g) agreement with ICE. This is the most aggro version of 287(g), the one that turns every cop into an ICE agent, and even in Florida this is NOT compulsory on any jurisdiction. Only allowing ICE to fish in a jurisdiction’s jail is. Closing the jail would remove that as well.
Tampa’s protest followed the recent model of blocking the intersection when and only when the light was red. Letters carried by this contingent read “stop ICE murder” referrring to the recent shootings.Each time the walk signal counted down towards the green light, protesters cleared the street, not once being caught in the intersection facing a green light. This didn’t stop one MAGA meathead from talking shit, flipping the “bird” and yelling at protesters to a chorus of shouts and raised middle fingers back at him.

Pentagon readies 1,500 soldiers to possibly deploy to Minnesota, officials say
Soldiers with the Army’s 11th Airborne Division in Alaska have been placed at the ready following Trump’s Insurrection Act threat, according to defense officials.

The Pentagon has ordered about 1,500 active-duty soldiers to prepare for a possible deployment to Minnesota, defense officials told The Washington Post late Saturday, after President Donald Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act in response to unrest there.

Arlington, VA—The citizens of the Arlington community held a vigil for victims abducted and slain by federal Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) officers over the last 11 months. Community leaders, law enforcement, and clergy gathered with the community outside Arlington Courthouse to condemn the violence and fear ICE was spreading across Virginia, targeting immigrants and citizens alike. Citizens also recognized the spirit of Renee Nicole Good, a Minneapolis mother of three killed on Wednesday, January 7, by ICE officer Jonathan Ross who shot her thrice in the face at virtually point-blank range during a botched traffic stop.
We of Action (WofA) organized the vigil with only a few days notice to highlight that ICE actions were victimizing Virginians as well as most other states. Speakers from Arlington took part in the vigil, condemning ICE tactics for their brutality as well as its lawless strategy for its neglect of due process. Similar actions and protests against ICE were held at over a 1000 locations across the country.
On the 13th of Jan and continuing until 2PM on the 14th, DHS held a recruiting event for CBP and presumably ICE as well at the Carillon Hilton N of St Petersburg, FL. With ICE and CPB having between them murdered 3 people in two days last week plus Keith Porter on New Year’s Eve, ICE et all were NOT welcome in the community.
The protest was estimated to have peaked at about 100 people, and it took 60-80 cops off the street. This meant those cops could not be racially profiling drivers and turning them over to ICE as cops do in FL.
Protesters blew whistles and used bullhorns to disrupt the event inside with sound from outside. All traffic entering or exiting the heavily copped-up parking lot was presumed recruiting even traffic until proven otherwise.

The broader counteroffensive against ICE and in solidarity with Minneapolis that began on Jan 7 after they murdered legal observer Renee Nicole Good continues. We are not forgetting about CBP’s attempted murders in Portland either. ICE started killing this year before the year even started, shooting and killing Keith Porter on fucking New Year’s Eve in LA.
This video came out during the day on Jan 10 and shows a Hilton hotel hosting #ICE agents being stormed by protesters at night. There is a claim that a second door inside stopped them, which makes sense as otherwise they could have taken the whole building and rousted ICE out of their cushy beds with banging on their doors and screaming. This was probably on Friday night, and represents a significant escalation against the Hilton there for hosting criminals and murderers from the ICE gang.
The Jan 10 “ICE out for good” protest in Tampa drew a substantial crowd. As the traffic light on Kennedy turned red, protesters stood in the crosswalk holding letters spelling “stop ICE murders.” Protesters cleared the street for every green light, allowing many motorists insteas of just a few to see the action. At times the scene was a cacaphony of shouting protesters and car horns honking in support.
The road open, motorists were honking WITH not AT the protest. Millions across the US have been sickened by the ICE and CBP murders in Minneapolis and Portland respectively. Jan 10’s “ICE out for Good” protests drew crowds all over the US and there are more of them tomorrow.
This scumbag walked into a massive anti-ICE/anti-Trump protest in Tampa with a holstered sidearm and a large pro-Trump flag. Marshalls glommed onto him and he thought better of staying in the crowd. He was escorted to the corner without incident and ended up crossing the street to escape the marshalls.
