Protesters near Lakeland-Linder International Airport demand Avelo Airlines DROP their ICE contract

On the 31st of May, one of 26 simultanious protests against Avelo Airlines and their ICE contract took place at the side of the road leading to Lakeland-Linder International Airport. This is Lakeland Florida’s commercial airport and Avelo flies from it.

Protesters did not enter the airport itself, deeming the environment unsafe and escape too difficult if police or security got violent. As it was, police circled but did not engage.

In addition to flying civilian air passengers, Avelo Airlines flies planes full of shackled prisoners being deported by ICE. They make big money on this contract. If people refuse to fly Avelo on account of this contract though, it could cost them even more money than the contract is worth. Avelo is already in financial difficulty, an effective boycott could ground them for good.

Celebrating the 5th anniversary of the burning of the 3ed Precinct in Minneapolis

5 years ago tonight, residents of Minneapolis took heavy retribution for the murder of George Floyd by a cop from the 3ed Precinct. Protesters drove off the cops, stormed the building, captured riot gear and other items useful throughout the Uprising, then burned the building to the ground. Since no prisoners were liberated by the teams that stormed the building, presumably cops had moved them knowing the precinct could not be defended

Where I am a celebratory bonfire wasn’t practical because thunderstormed soaked all the firewood, but I have an alternate video for you all.

This is a mix of several Unicorn Riot videos from the night the precinct burned, set to some music that captures the mood of those first Nights of Fire.

Pro-Palestine activists in Orlando remember Aaron Bushnell, Palestinian martyrs

On the 26th of May, Memorial Day 2025, Orlando’s pro-Palestine activists gathered at the Battle of the Bulge memorial at Lake Eola Park. Included among them were a number of military veterans.

A display and speakers honored Aaron Bushnell, recognized throughout Palestine as a US martyr for his self-immolation in front of the Israeli Embassy last year. Attendees also remembered all of Palestine’s other martyrs, entirely too many of them children killed by IOF bombs.

The conclusion of the speaking program was followed by a silent march all the way around Lake Eola.

DC/Arlington: Citizens Persist at Tesla Takedowns; Pace For Long Race Hard Road

Arlington, Va—As the weekly Saturday boycott line began winding down, Lawrence MacDonald read a list of issues over a bullhorn to about 50 who were compelled to return to week 17 of the Arlington Tesla Takedown. “Medicaid! he shouted, “Hands Off!” the group responded. “Social Security!” “Hands off!” they repeated. “Due process!…” He continued down his mental list of the many government agencies, services, and rights already hacked to pieces by Musk’s so called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and after each one they respond as if dutifully bound, “Hands off!” When he ran out of issues others shouted their reasons for being there. This went on for a while.

In the street behind them, passing motorists continued honking and partially drowning out their replies. A truck blasted its airhorn drowning them out altogether for a few moments. Someone cheered back, “Woooo Hoooo!” This delayed MacDonald’s closing comments further but gave an opening for others to speak.

With the passing months, the motorists have gotten much more into the mix of people dancing with joy, waving and cheering, reading the signs and their weekly Tesla Takedown boycott message outside the showroom on South Glebe Road. Many motorists seem to expect them to be there and have laid the sauce on thick with honking and thumbs up, sometimes disturbing the residents nearby.

Tampa remembers George Floyd 5 years later

A note on the video: the preroll footage of the 3ed Precinct (and a cop-calling Target) burning is from Unicorn Riot’s coverage of May 28 2020.

On May 25, 2024, activists gathered in Tampa Fl’s Curtis Hixon Park to remember George Floyd. They also commemorated the Uprising that followed his murder, and reminded everyone that locking up one murderous cop hasn’t ended police brutality and torture. A speaker pointed out that the ICE scum at the Worchester, MA attack took down a 16 year old girl, shoved her face into the pavement-and shoved a knee into her neck just like what another cop did to George Floyd. At least this time their victim survived this brutal assault.

It was on May 25 2020, convicted Minneapolis killer cop Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd. The murder weapon was his knee in George’s neck-for over 9 minutes. Fighting began in Minneapolis itself almost immediately therafter, and three nights later the 3ed precinct was liberated and burned to the ground.

By the following weekend, the Uprising had erupted from coast to coast. I was in DC at that time. On Friday, May 29 2020 Trump was scared into his bunker by protests outside. The following day police cars were smashed and burned as protesters fought to gain control of Lafayette Square. Another Night of Fire followed on May 31. On June 1 came Trump’s infamous Bible-thumping after Federal cops assaulted protesters to clear a few blocks. A curfew led to more fighting that night. Sporadic ighting raged back and forth for much of the rest of June in DC.

Famously we had the Albert Pike statue teardown on Juneteenth, followed by the attempt to pull down the Andrew Jackson statue in front of the White House. The following night, Black Lives Matter Plaza changed hands several times as the fighting raged back and forth.

Similar battles were fought in seemingly the majority of cities, DC was very intense, and Portland, OR even more so.

MAGA meatheads descend on Lakeland FL Farmer’s Market

Video shows the Fascists in their area. Anyone up for a game of “Name that Fascist?”

On the 24th of May, fascist pro-Trump, paid Youtube influencer Kaitlyn Bennett brought dozens of MAGA-hatted and other Fascists to Lakeland, FL’s farmer’s market. A news site estimated 80 fash, though that’s only likely if a significant number of them were not in Trump gear or other Fascist uniform. Someone on the scene counted roughly 40 visible fash.

This was an escalation stemming from a prior appearance by Kaitlyn at the same farmer’s market that earned her an informal trespass warning after a storm of complaints from many vendors. Kaitlyn often tries to pose as an anti-Trump protester, best known for her “Legalize MS-13” sign when she showed up at Lakeland’s Mayday 50501 protest and was responsible for someone else being arrested. She then tries to “interview” people and also has a record of harassing those who are not white. Maybe we should call her “KKKaitlyn?”

De-escalators were on the scene to protect the vendors not to counterprotest the fash with their fake “free speech” and “pro-God” rally. It appeared that the Fascists built up and then dispersed without actually doing much of anything. The loudest thing in their area was some kind of street preacher, unknown if he was part of them or independent.

DC/Arlington:Tesla Takedown Continues To Week Sixteen; Citizens Undeterred

From DC Media Group:

Arlington, VA—The DC Maryland and Virginia community refuses to stop their weekly stands outside Elon Musk’s Tesla Electric Vehicle Company showrooms. Their efforts to cast the car company in an unfavorable light has succeeded far beyond their initial hopes in February when handfuls of them first stood in cold weather with their hand made signs and their will.

Their boycott lines have catapulted from social media and into the mainstream media talkshows. They have affected Tesla sales, damaged its stock value, by spreading their boycott message across the country. Their boycott message has also spread internationally to the European Union and to Australia.

They showed up again on Saturday and Sunday this weekend for the “sweet sixteenth” week. One man brought his dog, they affectionately named Chester, who is in his sixth week of coming to the Tesla Takedowns. He gets plenty of pets and has assumed his place as a mainstay. Another person who barely escaped an oppressive regime with their parents has brought their son, an early 20-something youth just out of college and exposed to resistance for the first time. Someone brought their child to the boycott line. Others bring food, water, snacks and sign-making materials. Another has brought protest buttons they made to distribute to passing motorists. Someone else brought flyers to encourage others to join the boycott line.

Pro-Palestine activists mark the Nakba 77th anniversary with protest at Orlando City Hall

On the 17th of May, Orlando’s pro-Palestine activists held another event marking the 77th anniversary of the start of the Nakba (Catastrophe), this time gathering at City Hall. Protesters emphasized that the Nakba is still going on today, but that eventually the IOF will be defeated and the Palestinian diaspora will be able to go home.

Remember that it took 87 years to boot the First Crusade out of Jerusalem last time around, but in the end they were defeated.

Orlando: Nakba Day protest at UCF calls out university ties to weapons manufacturers

May 15th 2025 was the 77th anniversary of the start of the Nakba (catastrophe) in Occupied Palestine back in 1948. Nakba Day protests marked the occasion around the world.

One of these was held in front of Orlando’s University of Central Florida campus. This institution is famous for siccing both cops and ICE on international students who dared protest their ties to Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, and other makers of bombers, missiles, and other weapons sold to the IOF. These companies recruit openly on campus.

Protesters set up just off the actual property of the campus, just beyond the reach of campus regulations and cops.
